Join this fully-guided nighttime bioluminescent bay kayak adventure. Paddle your way through the mystical mangrove channels, a 30 minutes approximate journey (each way) that will lead you to Laguna Grande.
Once inside the lagoon meet some glowing new friends, the Pyrodinium Bahamense, microscopic plankton capable of producing natural light at the touch of your hand. Explore these amazing organisms up close as the professional eco-guide takes you to discover all its secrets. - Each participant must be capable of paddling on their own on a 2 person kayak, and be able to sit on the same position for about 2 hours.
- Face masks required for guides in public areas
- Failure to provide correct weight or hotel/lodging/cruise information upon booking may result in bus not being able to pick you at your location or close to it. No refunds will be issued due to this.
- GLASS BOTTOM KAYAKS ARE NOT AVAILABLE ON TUESDAYS due to maintenance, instead tour will be conducted on Regular Kayaks. No refunds will be issued due to this.

- Persons with the previously listed health restrictions cannot participate on the tour. No refunds will be authorized if a person neglects to read complete description and does not meet the safety requirements and limitations on the day of the tour.
- Pregnant women, persons with recent surgeries, past injuries or back problems, heart complaints or other serious medical conditions cannot participate on this tour.
- Regular temperature checks for staff
- Reservations made for the 6pm tour (second run) have a probability of being rescheduled to the first run if minimum is not met, or first run still has spaces available.
- Suitable for all physical fitness levels
- This tour does not includes a stop to eat.
- Total estimate duration of 5 hours includes: 2 to 2.5 hours driving time and 2 hours at tour site
- You will get wet, it is recommended that you wear bathing suit underneath, bring a towel and extra clothes for after the tour.
- The bio bay is an unpredictable natural phenomenon that may be influenced by multiple factors. Bioluminoscity level can vary from very visible to minimum or none without any previous notice. Full Moon phase may also affect the visibility. In the event of

- This tour operates under rain and other weather conditions. Guide will determine to call it off when thunderstorms or other serious conditions happens.

What To Expect
Laguna Grande
You will paddle your way for 30 minutes each way in a two-person glass-bottom kayak, through the mystical mangrove channels leading to the Natural Reserve at Laguna Grande (please read complete description for weight and other restrictions). Once you arrive to the area of the lagoon where the bioluminescence can be best experienced, our guides will explain how this entire ecosystem works and will allow you to play with the water to see this effect (swimming not allowed).
Once tour has concluded light snacks will be available for participants to regain their energy, before heading back to San Juan.

Awesome experience. Few things to know: it's cold at first, but then fine. You will be soaked, bring extra clothes (warm). Bring waterproof camera on a lanyard

We loved the tour, first time we ever kayaked through mangroves. The bioluminesce was not at its highest visibility that night. Still very cool. The tour guides were knowledgeable and helpful.
The kayak back through the darkness was a bit tough, wish we had some better lights with us so that we were able to navigate the darkness better

It is a long drive from San Juan, pack your dinner to go! Expect to get wet to the waist so bringing a change of clothes for the ride home will keep you more comfortable, also water shoes are recommended. There is a bathroom when you get to the launch point so you can change (bring your own tp). It’s not really possible for kids, the channel through the mangroves is narrow and it’s pitch black, you need to be able to kayak. The guides were awesome and it was a beautiful experience I will never forget!

This was a very relaxing and interesting trip. It was a full moon, so you could not see the plankton, but the guides covered us with tarps so we could get a good view. It was like watching pixie dust drip off your hands. Paddling through the mangrove trees in the way was beautiful.

It's an overrated experience, what they show on pics nothing close to that we saw. It's basically night time kayaking adventure, don't expect to see the lights. May be there is a particular night or season when the phenomenon happens, but, for obvious reasons it was not mentioned anywhere if that is true. Not worth the money and 1 hour drive that was spent. Also, the actual company who does the activity was different, we were not given the correct location for start, had to go back n forth to figure out where they wer starting the activity.
