Travel 2 hours to the Caribbean side the island (La Parguera) and experience one of Puerto Rico's famous bioluminescent bays on this tour from San Juan. Enjoy one of the most unique natural phenomenon's in the world by boat and then have fun swimming in the bioluminescent bay! This tour takes you on a 2 hour boat ride to watch, experience and live one of five bio bays in the world. This is the only one in Puerto Rico where you can swim, please don't use bugs repellents and/or sunscreen (you don't really need it). Transportation 2 , tacos, local beer, water, captain and local guide are all included on this small-group tour.

1 hr 35 min - Enjoy your dinner at Isla Cueva Restaurant, then walk around in La Parguera village and then get in the boat and in a clear night you will able to see the starts as we go to the Bio Bay.

Magical Bio Bay

Our tour guide Johamra was wonderful. She was knowledgeable in the areas we toured and provided a fun atmosphere for us to enjoy ourselves. Swimming at the bio bay is so magical and truly one of a kind. This is a once of a life time opportunity and I highly recommend it!

Create YOUR OWN sparkling trails of light!

What a PHENOMENAL EXPERIENCE! Cruz Rodriguez was our guide, and he is SO friendly, knowledgeable, fun, and responsible. Cruz's enthusiasm and love of Puerto Rico is contagious! Our first stop was the beautiful and peaceful hot springs, where we were able to soak away any stress and tension. Next, we went to a little cafe in the fabulous and funky beach town La Perguera. We shared our corn with a mama hen and her peeping chicks! Then it was time to board Captain Frank's beautiful motorboat, Nicole Michelle, and head out to the bay as the sun was setting. He's an excellent guide, telling us all about the local fish and the science behind the bioluminescence. It was positively MAGICAL swimming in jet black water in the darkest night, and creating sparkling trails of light with every movement! It's an unforgettable experience that I will always treasure! The ride back home was filled with salsa music and laughter, and sharing memories of our amazing day and night together!

Awesome experience!

We booked this tour as a last-minute replacement for a tour that got cancelled the day before we were supposed to go, and it couldn't have worked out better. Enrique and Richard were great guides, and treated our family wonderfully. The hot springs were relaxing, the included dinner was great, and the swimming in the bio bay was amazing. We highly recommend this tour to anyone.

Remarkable Experience

Cruz was terrific! We were a family of four and there was another couple on the tour, so it felt like a private tour. The journey was awesome, with Cruz pointing out all sorts of interesting things about the island as we went. The hot springs were amazing. It was the first thing that we did that felt like only locals usually do. Gorgeous, serene location and a great way to spend a bit of the afternoon. The town of Parguera was so cool, they had live music set up to celebrate a festival and the restaurant where we stopped for tacos was great. The fish tacos were awesome and the kids said the chicken tacos were excellent, too. The highlight of the day, of course, was the Bio Bay. Captain Frank was a ton of fun and seeing all the houses on the water was so cool. He first took us to sun bay, where we could swim out in the middle of the ocean near the mangroves and it was just a ton of fun. After that, the Bio Bay. I don't even know if there are any words to describe how magical the bay was. The water sparkled and the stars were out in force overhead just making the whole thing surreal. My husband, who is notoriously hard to please, was blown away. When they said it was time to wrap it up and get back to the boat, he mentioned that he could stay out there forever. My recommendation would be to choose a night of your vacation that is set to have the smallest moon. The darker the sky, the brighter the bay will seem. Apparently, a light rain is cool, too, because then the bay sparkles with every raindrop, but our night was clear. Also, the day we went it had a lovely breeze, so bugs weren't a problem, but in general I think it would be a good thing to carry along some bug spray, just in case.

The perfect experience

What incredible experience. Cruz was fantastic tour guide and gave so much information. The fish taco were amazing and we even were able to amazing coffee before going to The boat . Captain Frank was also great but absolute incredible experience was swimming with bio essences. It something I will never forget .
